Memberships and partners

Security at sea is a team sport. These are the organisations we work with to stay ahead of the threat landscape and the regulations.

Norma Cyber

The Norwegian Maritime Cyber Resilience Centre. Member — shared threat intelligence and coordinated response for the Norwegian fleet.

Nekkar ASA

Globetech is part of Nekkar ASA, a listed industrial group with a long-term horizon.

DNV

Certification body for our ISO 9001 and 14001 management system.

Nortech AI

Together with Nortech AI, we help customers collect and utilise operational technology (OT) data from vessels to create dashboards, analytics and business insights that support smarter decision-making.

Compliance

The regulations we build to

Compliance-driven purchases need a clear map from requirement to control. This is how the Globetech Defend Suite and our foundation services line up with the frameworks your auditors and flag states ask about.

IMO MSC.428(98)

Cyber risk management in the ISM Code

Requires cyber risk to be addressed in the safety management system. Defend Suite Readiness (risk assessment, policies, asset inventory) produces the documented approach; the Defend Portal keeps the evidence current.

IACS UR E26 / E27

Cyber resilience of ships and onboard systems

Mandatory for newbuild contracts from 2024. Segmented infrastructure, access control, logging and incident response map directly to the E26 lifecycle requirements; E27 system requirements are handled with our OEM partners during design.

BIMCO

Guidelines on cyber security onboard ships

The industry playbook behind most owners' cyber policies. Our awareness programme, patch management and change control follow the BIMCO structure so your policy and our operations speak the same language.

NIS2

EU directive on network and information security

Applies to many European operators and their essential suppliers. The compliance SLA, 24/7 monitoring, immutable backup and incident reporting give you the controls and the reporting chain NIS2 expects.

How we operate, in specifics

The things a technical buyer asks about on the second call.

Access to your vessels
Privileged access management with named accounts, time-limited sessions and logging. No shared passwords, no standing remote access.
Network design
VLAN segmentation with a security gateway between bridge, crew, office and OT. CCTV and third-party systems live in their own segment.
Detection
EDR on endpoints, gateway and email security, log collection from vessel and shore, correlated in the SOC / SIEM integration.
Recovery
Immutable backup and a tested disaster-recovery path so a ransomware event is a restore, not a rebuild.
Change and patching
Policies, configuration and patching managed centrally for the fleet, with status per vessel in the Defend Portal.
Support model
One number, 24/7, answered by an on-call engineer with the access and authority to act. Smart Maintenance agreements define what we own.
Connectivity
VSAT, LEO and 4G/5G combined in one managed hybrid link; we manage the link layer regardless of who sells the airtime.
Method
A risk-based approach combining cyber security assessments, endpoint detection and response (EDR) or managed detection and response (MDR), continuous monitoring and security improvement across maritime IT environments.

Questions buyers ask us

Who owns Globetech?

Globetech AS is part of Nekkar ASA. Nekkar is a listed Norwegian industrial group, which gives us a long-term owner and audited finances.

Which certifications do you hold?

Our management system is certified by DNV to ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment), first certified in 2022 and audited annually. Certificates are available on request.

How do you protect our data and your own access to our vessels?

Access to customer systems is secured through encrypted remote management and monitoring (RMM) tools, individual authentication and activity logging. Customers may also choose to implement privileged access management (PAM) to strengthen control, monitoring and auditability of third-party access to vessel and shore-based systems.

Which regulations does Defend Suite help us meet?

Defend Suite is designed to support compliance with key maritime cyber security requirements, including IMO cyber risk management requirements, IACS UR E26 and E27, BIMCO guidelines and NIS2. While compliance remains the responsibility of the operator, the Defend Portal can help simplify audits and reviews by providing documentation, reporting and security insights that support compliance efforts.

What does 24/7 vessel support actually mean?

A phone number answered around the clock by an on-call engineer who can act on the vessel remotely through controlled privileged access — and who knows the difference between a critical deviation and something that can wait until Monday.

Can you provide references?

Yes. References are available on request, and we are happy to put you in touch with an offshore, cargo or offshore-wind operator in your segment.

Do you work on newbuilds, and with our yard and OEMs?

Yes. Advisory is often the first step before a newbuild or fleet-wide project, and for E27 we work in the design phase with the yard and the equipment suppliers so the delivered systems meet the security baseline.

Do we have to replace what we already have?

Usually not. We start from the existing switches, cabling and link contracts, add segmentation, access control and detection on top, and only replace hardware that cannot carry the security baseline.

How do you show progress over time?

The Defend Portal provides continuous visibility into cyber security performance across the fleet, including patch compliance, vulnerability management, security alerts and remediation activities. Reporting and historical trends help customers demonstrate continuous improvement and support compliance reviews.

Let's keep your fleet steady.

Tell us about your vessels and we will come back with a plan — usually within one working day.
