The Globetech approach

Cyber security is not a priority at Globetech. It is a business necessity.

Defend Suite is built on a risk-based approach that helps customers reduce cyber risk, strengthen resilience and support compliance with maritime cyber security requirements. Through cyber security assessments, continuous monitoring, threat intelligence, endpoint detection and response (EDR), managed detection and response (MDR) and expert guidance, we help organisations improve their security posture over time.

Combining maritime expertise, cyber security capabilities and operational insight, we help customers protect vessels, shore environments and business-critical systems while supporting compliance with IMO cyber risk management requirements, IACS UR E26/E27 and NIS2.

Frequently asked questions

Which regulations does Defend Suite help us meet?

Defend Suite supports compliance with key maritime cyber security requirements, including IMO cyber risk management requirements, IACS UR E26 and E27, BIMCO guidelines and NIS2. While compliance remains the responsibility of the operator, the Defend Portal helps simplify the process by providing visibility, reporting and documentation that supports compliance efforts.

Do we need to replace our existing network?

Usually not. Readiness starts with an assessment of what you have. Segmentation, PAM and EDR are layered onto the existing VesselNet or network infrastructure, and we only replace hardware where it cannot support the security baseline.

What does 24/7 monitoring actually include?

Defend Suite provides continuous monitoring of security and operational events across supported vessel and shore environments. For customers with the Ticket Handling service, alerts are automatically logged and routed to our service management platform for investigation and follow-up. For infrastructure delivered and managed by Globetech, monitoring and patch management are provided as part of the service. For customer environments onboarded on an "as-is" basis, monitoring is provided on a best-effort basis until the environment has been reviewed and aligned with Globetech standards; remediation of inherited issues or non-standard configurations may be subject to additional charges. While automated monitoring helps identify and escalate potential issues, customers are always encouraged to contact our 24/7 support line directly for critical incidents affecting vessel operations, connectivity or business-critical systems.

Can this be rolled out fleet-wide?

Yes — Defend Suite is designed for fleets. Policies, configuration and patching are managed centrally, and the Defend Portal shows status per vessel.
