In August 2026 Globetech acquired 60 per cent of the shares in Satco AS. The remaining 40 per cent will be taken over in 2029. Satco was founded in 2008 and is based in Sandnes, Norway, delivering communication, navigation and CCTV systems to the offshore and shipping industries. Since the start, Satco has built a strong team of specialists and a very good name in the industry.
Complementing each other
Satco is strong in product delivery, engineering, installation and system integration. Globetech is strong in operations, monitoring, round-the-clock support and lifecycle management. Together we can now offer a single supplier: from the equipment on board and the connectivity that runs through it, to the operations and support that keep everything running.
What does it mean for customers?
We are developing a joint managed connectivity offering. Satco's communication solutions are combined with Globetech's GTX network management and our IT operations services, and delivered as one ongoing service instead of separate products. We also offer complete CCTV deliveries with service agreements.
The goal is simple: fewer suppliers to deal with, and better support throughout the lifetime of the systems on board.
Satco continues under its own name, with the same people and the same closeness to its customers.
Part of a clear strategy
Satco is Globetech's second acquisition, after Firstpoint in 2025. We are building Globetech into a complete platform for maritime ICT services, with more than 215 vessels under contract. Growth comes both organically and through acquisitions, and demand for managed connectivity keeps rising.
We are happy to tell you more about what this means for you in practice. Get in touch if you have any questions.
